The Workplace
The private workplace of the man is a sanctuary, where one relaxes and finds the center in oneself.
He says this is where he is able to let go, to place his mind in a particular frame, in order to create.
The workplace is a place where you are in touch with your creative nature. It is sacred. "It's like
a private chapel, where you have a communion with yourself."
Benny says it is like "clearing the slate when you create". It is the idea of keeping the space so
clear, that everything which comes out is clearly apprehended. Like an exercise in meditation, he
says, "because your mind is still".
But the workplace is much more than the confines of a fixed space. It is in fact a series of satellites,
of different functions, combining to form an organic entity. "It is a web of circumstances, people,
emotions, ideas.." Benny does not work as a solitary artist, he engages a whole society of people.
This invisible network is an enterprise built upon human relationships, and goes beyond the borders
of countries and cultures. Such is the vision behind the foundation
he intends to create and the motivation for the Council of Weavers.
