"Fashion is like sculpture using textiles. It is a marriage of technical skills with creative
imagination, where you achieve the balance and the unity of form and function.

"And I sculpt with the medium of textiles. Textiles is core in the creation. Without textiles,
there will be no fashion. Now, for me, it is no longer about textiles in fashion, but about the
fashion that is in textiles."
Art and Life
"I am discovering this art-form through skilled artisans, who have maintained their heritage,
through very basic weaving for example. I am determined to find out its history, where it comes
from. To me textiles itself is an art-form. And to relate that to our lives I create something
that would be applied to fashion and objects that we use."
So we come back to his philosophy, how art is joined with life. And indeed, Benny's art is always
about life, they are about a compassion for life.
In his textiles and creations, compassion is the medium that Benny practices in.
